Believed to have come from the orchards of the Croftons of Sligo, this Irish heritage variety is a high-quality dessert apple, once widely grown in Ireland and Britain. Its skin is a pale greenish-yellow, blushed orange-red with crimson streaking and its flesh, cream-coloured, crisp and juicy, with a good balance of sweetness and acidity. The flavour is outstanding with a subtle, aromatic hint of peach.
